Synthes GmbH was founded in 1963 and is located in Umkirch nearby Freiburg. We employ around 250 employees in sales, marketing, customer support and production. Within our area we work together with a big number of clinics and their departments of traumatology, orthopaedy, oral and maxillofacial surgery and neurosurgery. Besides distribution Umkirch is also a production site and as such specialized in the small scale production of instruments and prototypes.
Our product portfolio is only one part of the overall service and support Synthes offers. Just as high quality implants and instruments are only one part of the care our customers provide to patients, we generate added value for our customers. Our carefully trained staff is specialized in traumatology, spinal and cranio-maxillofacial surgery and dedicated to an excellent service level. Further we continuously offer training courses for surgeons and OR personnel.
