SynFix-LR is a stand-alone device for the fusion of the lumbar spine. The implant is inserted and fixated from anterior – an additional posterior approach is therefore not necessary. Posterior muscular structures are preserved and surgical morbidity associated with 360° is eliminated.
Key Features & Benefits
| – | Diverging locking screws penetrate the vertebral body close to the anterior rim offering stability comparable to a cage with pedicle screw fixation. |
| – | The zero anterior implant profile minimizes the risk of vessel injury. |
| – | One single surgical approach reduces patient morbidity, surgery time and costs. |
| – | Using the same approach as for disc prosthesis, SynFix-LR serves as a backup system if the mobilization of the segment is not possible. |
Indications
Lumbar and lumbosacral pathologies which may require anterior segmental arthrodesis, including
- Localized symptomatic degenerative disc disease
- Revision surgery for failed decompression syndrome
- Pseudoarthrosis
