Switzerland with approximately 2800 employees is a key location for Synthes: the European Product Development Centers for Traumatology, Spine and Cranio-maxillofacial, the area headquarters for Europe, Middle East and Africa as well as eight of our total 14 production facilities are all located in Switzerland.

The plants in Balsthal, Bettlach, Grenchen, Lamone, Oberdorf/BL, Mezzovico and Raron manufacture metallic as well as resorbable implants such as nails, plates and screws, whereas Hägendorf is specialized in the production of instruments and the total artificial disc system Prodisc. In addition, the two Swiss logistics centers in Oberdorf and Selzach guarantee an efficient and worldwide delivery.
