The company Intes Poprad s.r.o. was founded in the year 1991 in the city of Poprad, Slovakia. It is located in the centre of town, at the square of Holy Egidia 95 (Námestie svätého Egídia 95) in the pedestrian zone. The company's activities are entirely concentrated on health care and it is representative of several renowned companies dealing in medical equipment, diagnostics and services. Intes has been attested the quality certification ISO 9002.

In 2000 an agreement between Intes and Synthes was reached for the distribution and servicing of Synthes products throughout Slovakia. On behalf of Synthes, Intes is mainly active in the selling of original instruments and implants of the Association for the Study of Internal Fixation – AO/ASIF. Synthes products for the surgical treatment of bones are used in orthopaedic trauma, spine and cranio-maxillofacial surgery. Intes is national representative of Synthes in Slovakia.
