Synthes to divest Techron’s non-core business
Solothurn / Raron / Etzgen, October 27, 2006
Effective December 31, 2006, Synthes will sell the non-core automotive business of Techron AG in Raron/Switzerland to Jehle Engineering AG. Jehle’s new subsidiary will be called Techron AG, based in Etzgen/Switzerland. Synthes will retain the medical device manufacturing operations of Techron AG which will be renamed, Synthes Raron GmbH. The parties have agreed to not disclose the transaction price.
The business will be transferred to Jehle AG in phases and this process will be actively supported by Synthes Raron for twelve months. All current employees will be offered a job with Synthes Raron, where Synthes plans to expand its manufacturing activities.
