Synthes-Stratec announces the retirement of Dr. Roland Brönnimann, President Europe & Latin America

Synthes-Stratec announced today that Dr. Roland Brönnimann, President of Synthes-Stratec for Europe & Latin America, will retire from Synthes-Stratec at the end of April, 2003. During the April General Assembly Meeting, the Board of Directors will propose that he be elected to the Board of Synthes-Stratec. In addition, Dr. Brönnimann will continue to represent Stratec Medical as a member of the Board of the AO Foundation and will work on special projects on behalf of the Chairman.

The company also announced that effective May 1, 2003, Mr. Ciro Römer will be appointed President of Synthes-Stratec for Europe & Latin America. Following 13 years of experience in the medical device industry, Mr. Römer joined the Synthes-Stratec organization 5 years ago as a General Manager, first in the Netherlands, then in Spain. On January 1, 2002, he assumed responsibility for the Area of Europe. Dr. Brönnimann plans to work closely with Ciro Römer to ensure a smooth transition.
