Synthes Moves to the “UK Exchange Regulated Market” Segment of the virt-x

Synthes Inc. is a Delaware company with shares listed on the SWX Swiss Exchange and currently traded on the “EU Regulated Market” Segment of virt-x. The Synthes shares are included in the Swiss Market Index (SMI); Synthes is the only SMI company that is incorporated outside of Switzerland.
As of January 20, 2007, the SWX rules applicable to issuers incorporated in Switzerland whose shares are traded on the EU Regulated Market Segment of virt-x will change. On the same date, Synthes will move to the SWX Main Segment and accordingly be traded on the UK Exchange Regulated Market Segment of virt-x. This change of the listing and trading segment will not affect the SMI inclusion of Synthes, the Valoren/ISIN number or the ticker symbol (SYST) for the Synthes shares.
