Synthes Oy is part of Synthes Inc., which is one of the leading producers of trauma-orthopaedic implants and instruments in the world.
 
In Finland the company was founded in 1979. Today there are twenty seven people in our staff.
 
In Finland the company markets the products its parent company manufactures in Switzerland. Following the principles of responsible marketing Synthes organizes AO courses and other educational events in the field of operative fracture care.
 
The AO School (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen – AO) represents the scientific background organization, which tests and approves Synthes products. Following this procedure, Synthes makes sure products are safe in use and clinically functional.
