The Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) Distraction System is a modular system of internal distraction devices that are used to gradually lengthen the mandible body and ramus.

Modular system of intraoral distraction devices offered in a variety of designs and sizes to fit patient anatomy
Footplates available in cloverleaf and mesh designs in four sizes to fit a wide range of patients, 1.0 mm and 1.3 mm for children under 12 months of age, and 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm for older patients
2.0 mm footplates accept locking screws for added strength - End-translating and center-translating distractor bodies available for maximum placement options of the distractor on the mandible
Flexible and rigid extension arms are easily removed during the consolidation phase without a surgical procedure


Indications


The Synthes Craniofacial (CMF) Distraction System is intended for use as a bone stabilizer and lengthening (and/or transport) device for correction of congenital deficiencies or post-traumatic defects of the mandibular body and ramus where gradual bone distraction is required.
The system of 1.0 mm and 1.3 mm is recommended for children under the age of 12 months and 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm is recommended for older patients.
