Synthes implants and AO techniques have a long tradition in Brazil: the first AO courses were held already in 1974 through the visiting professor and member of the founders of the AO Prof. Willenegger. Synthes Brasil was founded in 1988 and has its headoffice in Rio Claro, SP.

Our main activities are:

Importation, marketing and sales of Synthes products

Over 90% of our sales come from high quality products directly imported from Switzerland. We hold an adequate stock level of all implants in order to ensure excellent delivery service to our clients. We also have a large stock of loan equipment that can be used if customers wish to evaluate new systems or just need them occasionally.

Beside the headquarters in Rio Claro-SP (170 km distance to SP), which is responsible for national distribution, we have four sales offices in São Paulo, Brasília, Curitiba, Porto Alegre e Belo Horizonte. Production of plates and screws

In order to compete in the public health care market (SUS), we produce basic implants such as screws and plates, DHS and cannulated screws here in Brazil. The raw materials as well as the instrument sets are imported from Switzerland; this ensures high quality and optimal clinical results.

Courses and workshops

The Brazilian AO chapter is very active and organizes more than 15 courses for doctors and nurses per year. We support these events by organizing the venue, importing the course material and providing logistical and technical support. In addition we also run a lot of workshops in the hospitals in order to train the use of our instrumentation.

Service

Our Service Center provides regular service and maintenance of Power Tools and instruments in order to ensure proper function and upgrade service.
