Synthes plans to acquire Techron AG
Solothurn/Switzerland, August 18, 2005Synthes plans to acquire Techron AG a Valais Switzerland medical device and metal stamping manufacturing company for an undisclosed price. Techron, a long time supplier for Synthes, currently employs 70 members of staff. Synthes intends to retain all employees as well as the location Raron for this manufacturing facility.
The acquisition will provide Synthes with new stamping technology for its implant manufacturing and additional capacity for its worldwide operations.
The merger is contingent upon the approval of all shareholders of Techron AG at a General Shareholders meeting on September 24, 2005.
